10:15am  – 11:30am  –  Morning Session - A Macro View of Travel Risk Management, Industry Standards, Players and Pitfalls

Presenter: Charles Brossman,  Author, Speaker, Consultant and Travel Risk Management Thought Leader

Charles Brossman is an internationally recognized expert, speaker and writer on corporate travel risk management programs.  A former travel manager and director of risk management products and services for global travel management companies (CWT and FCm Travel Solutions), he has served on the GBTA Risk Committee. He currently sits on the GBTA Foundation Risk Task Force, the advisory board for the Global Congress on Travel Risk Management, and the SafeHotels Alliance (based in Sweden).  Charles is also the author of “Building a Travel Risk Management Program:  Traveler Safety and Duty of Care for Any Organization,” to be released by Butterworth Heinemann in April of 2016. 

A detailed presentation and discussion with author and travel risk management subject matter expert on best practice methodologies for TRM programs and policies, application of law to duty of care for U.S. companies (with case study), how TRM impacts enterprise risk management and business continuity (with additional case studies), and information that will help members to understand the importance of different stakeholders required for successful TRM strategies.

  • Learn what holistic TRM means and common misconceptions in the market, with author and travel risk management subject matter expert on best practice methodologies.

  • Application of law to duty of care for U.S. companies (with case study)

  • How TRM impacts enterprise risk management and business continuity (with additional case studies)

  • Understanding the role of different suppliers in your approach to TRM (especially TMC’s)

  • Understanding internal stakeholders and their roles with regard to continuous process improvement of TRM.

1:00pm  –  2:30pm – Afternoon Program – Travel Risk Management Program Development 101 Workshop - The Fundamentals

Presenter: Charles Brossman,  Author, Speaker, Consultant and Travel Risk Management Thought Leader

This workshop is designed to familiarize attendees with examples and meanings of each KPA (key process area) (10 of them), included in the TRM3 (travel risk management maturity model), which is the industry standard for assessments and as a TRM (travel risk management) program framework.

  • Learn official definitions for each key process area – understanding the differences.

  • Brainstorm before the event, upon what you think your assigned group’s KPA means, and provide examples to share with the group.

  • Receive overview of the KPA’s from workshop administrator, Charles Brossman, at the beginning of the workshop to see if you properly understood yours

  • Break into groups to collaborate and share sample applications of your KPA via programs, creating a consolidated list to share with the entire workshop group in attendance. Guidance as needed during break outs by workshop administrator.

  • Present consolidated group examples with the group, with feedback or corrections from workshop administrator.

  • Begin Q&A session and wrap up.
