Salvatore (Sal) Badalamenti currently serves as the Assistant Federal Security Director for Mission Support. Sal has oversite of Human Resources, Payroll/Finance, Logistics, and the Coordination Center.
During his career with TSA, Sal has served as a Training Facilitator at TSA headquarters, and other cites during the “Collective Bargaining” negotiations. He served on the TSA’s National Advisory Council as Chair of the Human Capital Committee from 2008 – 2010, served as a facilitator for the TSA’s National Advisory Council from 2010 – 2013, and was the recipient of a Team Award for his participation, and membership of the facilitation team in 2011.
Prior to joining TSA, Sal was employed in the private sector with aviation. He worked for 11 years at American Airlines, starting his career as a ticket agent, and ultimately promoted to Assistant Station Manager in Detroit DTW. He also worked at Northwest Airlines for 7 years as an Inflight Manager. His other experiences include working as a Sales Manager for Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors until his job was eliminated after 9/11.

- On April 14, 2020, TSA recorded the lowest travel volume in its history – just over 87,500 passengers. That's a 96% decrease from the same day last year and the 2.5 million passengers TSA screens, on average, per day.
- As air travel continues to grow, TSA remains dedicated to ensuring passengers get to their destinations safely and securely.
- We launched our "Stay Health. Stay Secure" campaigner to explain the protective measures TSA has implemented at our security checkpoints to make the screening process safer for passengers and our workforce.
