MBTA is proud to support the Greater Lansing Food Bank
The Greater Lansing Food Bank is a non-profit organization that provides emergency food to individuals and families in need in Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton counties. Food is distributed through an extensive network of food pantries and community kitchens located throughout the greater Lansing area. The Food Bank annually serves tens of thousands of people, many of them seniors and children. Our recipients also include the "working poor," those individuals who are employed but don't earn enough to meet housing, health, transportation and food needs. The Food Movers program rescues perishable food from restaurants, commercial kitchens, bakeries, and grocery stores and delivers to our network of pantries and agencies and subsidized housing complexes. The Food Movers also manage our many food drives that local business and organizations organize to help feed our community. Food Movers also runs Neighborhood Partnerships that distribute food in five Lansing neighborhoods once or twice a month.
- 9:00am - 10:00am - Registration - Welcome!
- 10:00am - 10:45am - Presentation - Exploring Generational Differences in the Workplace
Guest Speaker - Emilie Stawiarski, Society of Human Resource Management - As the Director for Workforce Readiness for the Michigan Council of SHRM thru 2009 and is the past president and current Legislative Rep for the local Ann Arbor SHRM (Soc of Hum Resources Management) chapter. As their Director of Human Resources, Emilie currently works with Internet2, a high tech, non-profit consortium of universities expanding the Internet for research and education with a dynamic, innovative and cost-effective optical network. Emilie's tenure on the boards of the Greater Ann Arbor SHRM, the U.S. Department of Labor Work/Life Consortium (Advisory Council), The Great Lakes Alzheimer's Association, and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, has given her insight into the needs and strengths of our society's diverse culture. Emilie's passion for recognizing and respecting the contributions of all generations has been shared with audiences at major universities and associations across Michigan.
Description - MBTA Meeting Presentation - Exploring Generational Differences in the Workplace
We have, for the first time in history, four generations in the workplace. Couple that with global competition, downsizing, stress and different value systems, and it could be a serious problem for employers. Learn the different generational work styles, how they can work together, and how you can recruit, build teams, and motivate your staff to maintain and increase productivity.

Thank you to Jenny Baumann and the MBTA Charity Committee, Sandy Chwierut, Kathy Mastin, Kimberly Kruger and Jodie Duncan for putting together our charity raffle for the June 22nd meeting.
The MBTA Charity committee has selected a charity to support for the MBTA Golf Outing on June 22nd at Eagle Eye in Lansing. We would like to raise funds for the Greater Lansing Food Bank. The Great Lansing Food Bank raises money, food, and in-kind contributions for meeting the emergency food needs of greater Lansing, coordinate and support the work of local food pantries, educate the community on hunger issues. More information can be found on their website: www.greaterlansingfoodbank.org
As the Greater Lansing Food Bank takes in-kind contributions, we would like to encourage the meeting and golf participants to bring canned and other food items to donate to the organization. We will be offering 1 free raffle ticket for the raffle items to anyone who contributes 5 or more food items. The donor will need to bring their food items to the meeting or golf outing to qualify for the free raffle ticket. The raffle tickets are valued at $5 each.
We would also like to call out for donation items for the silent auction and raffle being held after the golf outing. If you are interested in making a donation, please contact Jodie Duncan to notify her about their intentions to donate. Please state the items being donated, who they are being donated by, and the approximate value. They should also state whether or not they can bring the items to the meeting/auction or if they need to mail the items to Jodie in advance of the event. Jodie's email address is: [email protected] or mail donation items to: Avis Budget Group, 287 Lucas Dr. Detro it, MI 48242. attn: Jodie Duncan
