      Presenter: Kim Maschoff, Director of Hotel Practice

Kim Maschoff, Director of TCG’s Hotel Practice, provides strategic hotel sourcing, performance and contract management for TCG’s global clients.  Kim leads a team of consultants and analysts who provide clients with tailored hotel programs to best meet individual program needs.  Kim has more than 20 years of hotel experience.

Kim previously held positions as a hotel general manager, the director of global hotel programs for an international travel management company and the global hotel practice lead for a large travel consulting firm.  She participated on a team established by the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA) to establish the electronic request for proposal (RFP) process and to identify and set industry practices.  Kim’s experience uniquely positions her to provide clients with a superior level of expertise in strategic planning and execution.  She is a skilled project manager and change management ambassador for her clients.  Kim is instrumental in the design, development and implementation of successful global travel programs.

Kim earned her Master’s Degree in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University, Lisle, IL, and her Hotel Management Degree from the University of Surry, United Kingdom.  She has served as President of her chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and has been recognized by the American Society for Training and Development.  Kim’s association involvement includes membership with organizations such as; the Association of Corporate Travel Executives, the Global Business Travel Association and the Chicago Business Travel Association.

    Moderator - Desiree French, Partner and Director of Program Management and  Implementations

Desiree French, TCG Partner and Director of Program Management and Implementations, manages and implements global travel solutions and leads strategic development of comprehensive global travel programs. She is responsible for managing client relationships and developing new programs and increasing travel policy compliance. Desiree has more than 25 years of industry experience.

Desiree previously served as Director of Sales for global distribution systems company, Sabre, and Vice President of Sales for WorldTravel BTI. She has helped clients with travel program assessments, agency sourcing initiatives, travel policy development, travel policy implementations, vendor compliance and centralized global travel program implementations.

In addition to industry involvement with organizations such as Michigan Business Travel, the Association of Corporate Travel Executives, and the Global Business Travel Association, Desiree has been a Certified Travel Counselor for more than 20 years. Desiree specializes in outsource travel management, agency sourcing, GDS and online booking tools, travel policy and development of hotel and car programs.

     Paula Flowers, Global Travel Manager & Corporate Event Planner - Kelly Services, Inc.

Paula Flowers is global travel manager & corporate event planner for Kelly Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: KELYA, KELYB).  Kelly® is a leader in providing workforce solutions headquartered in Troy, Michigan.

Paula has over 20 years of experience in the travel industry, with extensive experience in meeting management.  She works within the marketing department managing internal and external meetings and events; in addition to managing the travel program.

Prior to joining Kelly in 2000, Paula was a travel agent for 15 years, working on-site for several corporations while handling domestic, international, group and VIP travel.   In May of 2007, Paula’s role expanded to include the responsibilities of global travel manager. 

In her current role as global travel manager and corporate event planner, Paula is responsible for the day to day operations of travel, including managing the extensive process involved with temporary employee travel and travel vendor management. 

Paula is a member of Meeting Planners International (MPI) as well as a board member of Michigan Business Travel Association (MBTA). 

    Barbara Clauser (ThyssenKrupp USA, Inc);

Barbara Clauser heads the travel management program for ThyssenKruppUSA. ThyssenKrupp AG is a German multinational conglomerate corporation located in 80 countries and employing 180,000. She has vast experience in developing and implementing strategic travel and credit card programs focusing on cost savings, conversions and implementations. One of the first to actively endorse and use self-booking tools, she has successfully achieved a 94% adoption rate which has resulted in significant savings through the use of preferred vendors. Barbara has increased adoption to one credit card vendor leading to additional incentives and data consolidation.  All of these results have been achieved without a corporate mandate. She has also been instrumental in travel policy creation and designing RFP’s for TMC’s, travel vendors, contract labor and credit card programs.

   Lisa Maloney | Global Project Manager, Hotel Solutions, Americas
Carlson Wagonlit Travel | CWT Solutions Group

Lisa Maloney has over 25 years of experience in various areas of the travel industry, with extensive experience in the design, development and implementation of best in class travel programs. For the past 15 years Lisa has worked in multiple practices within CWT Solutions Group, the global consulting division within Carlson Wagonlit Travel, including, Expense Management, Automated Booking, Strategic Meetings Management and Hotel Solutions.

In her current position as Global Project Manager, Hotel Solutions, Lisa is responsible for the development of client’s hotel program strategies, negotiating hotel agreements, program distribution and providing ongoing program optimization. Lisa’s experience in managing large global client programs where spend from transient, extended stay, meetings and project business are leveraged to provide savings opportunities for clients makes her a leader in hotel program development.

Lisa holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.

   Kanina M. Brinkey, Account Executive - Marriott International

Kanina Brinkey graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Recreation and Hospitality Management.  She began her career with Marriott 13 years ago as an intern at the Romulus Marriott hotel and since then has held various sales roles within the regional and national offices and spent five years on property at the Troy Marriott hotel focusing on corporate group and business transient pricing.  In her current role as account executive for Marriott International, she is dedicated to a specific group of mid market company’s total hotel needs including business transient, extended stay, group and catering hotel pricing.  She can assist her clients with all Marriott hotel locations and enjoys learning about the client’s needs and connecting them to the best hotels fitting their specs.  Kanina is a busy mom of three girls and in her spare time enjoys going to Detroit Tiger baseball games with her husband, taking the kids to the zoo and local park or anywhere else where there’s fresh air that will get them to sleep better at night.  When kid and husband free, she enjoys indoor cycling and kickboxing classes.
